The Applied Art Direction is a safari through the treasures and landscapes of the North of Britain. We are based at a farmhouse workshop with accommodation at a riding school at a nearby farmhouse in the Pennine hills, on the border of Lancashire and Yorkshire.

We take our twelve seater Landrovers along the backroads to mountains in the Lake District and Wales and cities such as York and Chester.

Real understanding of history and tradition is developed by lively instruction from our activity and tour guides (college and university lecturers). Knowledge of architecture and craftsmanship is further developed by our hands-on workshops in traditional skills. Such activities can be enjoyed as recreation or used as the basis for new career possibilities. Guests primarily interested in developing craft skills gain great insights into the history of art and design.

Apart from all that , we get thoroughly involved in music and entertainments in the evenings and generate an experience tourists would never find.

The full package includes-- accommodation; travel to historical sites with expert guided tours; tuition; meals; materials; protective clothing; information pack; evening entertainments and an evening of dining and dancing at a Manchester bar and restaurant.

For those interested in real travel, new experiences and seeing the real beauty of Britain -- our safaris are perfect --the evening entertainments are a bonus! The staff know how to bring alive the exhibits at all the major local galleries including the new Henry Moore Museum and Royal Armouries in Leeds and the Science Museum in Manchester. The city of Bradford hosts The National Museum of Photography, The Museum of Colour and Salts Mill with their Hockney collection.
